    How to filter
    wellwater?

As an alternative to the public water supply, well water is widely used by professionals, particularly in the farming and livestock sectors. However, using water that has not undergone the usual treatment by our public utilities requires vigilance. Before any use, it is essential to purify your well water to avoid potential health risks. Filter, sterilizing system, osmosis... Discover the different techniques for filtering and treating well water, and how you can take advantage of LM Innovation technology to improve the quality of your well water.

    What influences well water quality?

Well water quality depends on its surroundings

Well water quality varies according to the type of well, its depth, the type of water table tapped, the well's environment (farmyard, sanitation, crops, livestock, industrial sites, etc.) and the time the water is drawn from the well.

Most often considered undrinkable, well water presents two types of risk:

    • Microbiological: bacteria are present in the water.
    • Chemical: products that alter water quality (pesticides, heavy metals, etc.)

    Sources of contamination

For effective water treatment, we need to know the origin of the impurities it contains. The presence of micro-organisms, particularly bacteria, can have different origins:

    • Well or borehole located in a depression or basin
    • Installation near a livestock farm, sewage treatment plant, septic tank...
    • Permeable or rusty pipes
    • Sanitary discharges

Before using your well water, carry out a bacteriological and physico-chemical analysis. If the results show the presence of bacteria or high levels of harmful particles, treatment solutions must be found.

Solutions for filtering and treating well water

    strainer system

    Strainer

The strainer is useful when the water from a well or borehole is loaded with sand and sediment. Generally washable, this system filters out inorganic impurities and allows the water to be used for watering.

UV sterilization to make water safe for your pets

This method uses UV light to kill bacteria and micro-organisms in the water. But it does not filter out other contaminants such as nitrates or heavy metals. What's more, the UV action is not long-lasting. Once sterilized, if the water passes through poorly maintained pipes, for example, it becomes contaminated again.

    osmosis system

    Reverse osmosis

Installing a reverse osmosis system filters out impurities, bacteria, viruses, nitrates and even some heavy metals. However, this filtration also removes beneficial elements naturally present in the water, such as certain minerals.

    Ceramic filter

Ceramic filtration is a purification method designed to eliminate bacteria, parasites and fine particles. However, it has no effect on chemical substances.

LM technology, a solution for taking your water quality to the next level

LM Innovation is an expert in water treatment. Our technology, adapted for professional use, provides water with a range of properties that are highly beneficial to your business. Our systems are the ideal complement to filters when you're looking to improve the quality of your water.

And they require no energy, consumables or maintenance.

Limit the effects of limescale in your well water

As thewater passes through one of our appliances, it transforms the limescale and reduces its ability to adhere. As a result, it still circulates in the water, but deposits less on surfaces.

What's more, LM water is more efficient. It allows you to maintain your pipes on a daily basis. In the long term, it ensures the good condition of your entire pipe network by reducing the use of chemical maintenance products.

Action on iron in well and borehole water

When your well water passes through our technology, the chemical form of the iron it contains is transformed. As with limescale, it becomes less adherent and easier to remove.

    • The taste of iron is greatly reduced;
    • Less iron is deposited on surfaces and in pipes;
    • Old iron deposits are easier to clean and gradually disappear.

Surfaces and pipes are also easier to maintain. LM water naturally reduces iron deposits. Once old deposits have been removed, your surfaces and pipes become dirty less quickly, requiring less maintenance effort.

LM Innovation appliances let you live with ironing without all its drawbacks. You'll never be 100% iron-free. But it's an effective and responsible alternative to filtration systems that are costly in terms of maintenance and chemical consumables.

Preserve the quality of your water reserves over time

By acting on its quality, our technologies enable water to be stored for longer. They considerably limit its degradation over time by slowing down stagnation and greening. As a result, water remains of much higher quality in reserves, without the need for chemical treatment.
